December is a month when many holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s Eve are celebrated. Millions of people around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas. Normally, this holiday consists of gift-giving, decorations and Christmas trees. This festive holiday takes place on Dec. 25. Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday celebrating the rededication of the holy temple in Jerusalem. Hanukkah rituals include lighting menorahs, and exchanging small gifts each night. It is celebrated on different days every year, and this year, it was Nov. 27-Dec. 5. New Year’s Eve is a very exciting holiday simply celebrating the beginning of a new year. It’s on Dec. 31 and normally goes until midnight or later. Lots of people celebrate this by a New Year’s kiss when the clock hits midnight, making a New Year’s resolution and watching or lighting fireworks. Overall, December is a very festive month of the year. Many holidays are celebrated and it’s most people’s favorite season of the year.
