Sarah Robbins, a senior, is this month’s impressive Athlete of the Month. Sarah Robbins sets high goals, and her tolerance for failure is low. She is an outstanding student and volleyball player. Sarah has had to establish a leadership role because she is the only senior and the team is so young. Her experience and passion could lead the West Jessamine Volleyball team to victory. “Our goal for this season is to win region and go to state. We have the talent, but we need focus,” Sarah expresses adamantly. Her determination, which is how she described her team’s attitude, will lead the volleyball team to success. Sarah and her team also have tight relationships. When asked if the team connected as friends, Sarah responded, “Yes, this team is very close and we have very close friendships.” Sarah not only sets her standards above average in volleyball, she also strives to be the best academically. When asked what her goals were after high school she replied, “I plan on going to medical school and get an undergrad in neuroscience. I plan on going to Duke, Cornell or Minnesota. As for a career, I would like to become a doctor of internal medicine.” As you can see, Sarah’s road to success does not end after the volleyball season.
