Wells Ducas is a senior player for the Colts, and this month’s impressive Athlete of the Month. Wells has played basketball for West Jessamine since middle school, and his experience has sharpened his skill and knowledge of the game. Wells stated that his individual goal for the season is to “play hard when I’m on the court in order to help our team win, and to be successful in the classroom.” Wells has maintained a 4.25 GPA while averaging ten or more points per game. He stated that the teams goal is to “play unified and have fun. If we do this, I believe we can beat some big teams and have a good time while doing so. I’m excited for our season and the opportunity to achieve our goal of winning the region.” Wells’ expectations on the court require hard work and dedication, just like his college and career goals. Wells has many plans for after high school. “My number one college choice is Wofford College. I intend to major in biology, attend medical school, and specialize in orthopedic surgery,” he states. If Wells continues to work hard in the classroom as well as the court, he will accomplish his dreams.
