Coffee Corner

Whether you drink it to prepare for a long stressful day of school, after a long stressful day of school, to wake up, for pure enjoyment, or simply because “Starbucks is life”, coffee holds a special place in many students hearts here at West. So to get you through the day or to help you cram for those finals towards the end of the year, here is a guide to the top 5 local coffee shops, in my opinion, near the Lexington area.
Note: Order is not of rank

1.) Coffee Times Coffee House- Location: Regency Rd, Lexington, KY 40503
This shop holds over 60 types of coffee and each are roasted on site, the atmosphere is hip and fun, and it offers comfortable seating for study nights.

2.) North Lime Coffee and Donuts – Original shop Location: North Limestone, Lexington, Ky
Second Location: Clays Mill Road, Lexington, Ky
This shop is unique in that it is not only famous for coffee but for its donuts as well. Get out there early for the best donuts because they only make a fixed amount and may run out if you’re too late.

3.) Common Grounds Coffee House – Location:E High St, Lexington, KY
This is my particular favourite because the coffee and service is amazing as well as abundant seating and relaxed atmosphere. It is farther than the others so spending the day in town would be advised.

4.) A Cup of Commonwealth – Location: Eastern Ave, Lexington, KY
This shop is unique in that they have a pay it forward option to pay for a person of your choice on a later date. It could be as broad as just a coffee for a nurse or fire fighter, or a specific person when they walk in. However seating is very limited.

5.) Daily Offerings Coffee Roastery- Location: W Main St, Lexington, KY
Located across from Triangle Park, this shop makes for a classic city atmosphere. Open, simple and with great coffee, this shop is high up on my list of favourites.
